USA exchange: a weekend at Washington D.C.
Hello guys,
our days here get super busy, which is why I wasn’t able to give y’all updates. I’ll write about the last week soon though.
Anyway, we spent this weekend in the capital of the U.S., Washington D.C.!
I’m super excited to share this with you, so enjoy!
On Friday we were headed towards D.C., though we had a few stops on the way, one of them being Hershey’s chocolate factory:
Once we arrived, our teachers had a surprise for us: we’d watch the basketball game Washington Wizards vs Chicago Bulls. Sadly, the traffic was rough, especially inside Washington, which is why we missed half of the game. It was still nice though.
On Saturday, we visited the capitol, museums and then took a walk over the Washington Mall, visiting many memorials and sights.
Capitol:
We had free time to look at a museum of our choice. I decided to go to the ‚Smithsonian national museum of natural history‘.
my Nr 1 highlight there:
Dom Pedro Aquamarine with 10.363 carats
Washington Monument
WW2 memorial
Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial
Korean War Memorial
Lincoln Memorial
Vietnam War Memorial
1 Wall of names (way bigger than in the picture)
2 The three servicemen statue
3 women’s memorial
White House
WW1 Memorial
On Sunday, we visited the National Holocaust Museum and Memorial before going on our way back to Morristown, to the Delbarton school.
That was our weekend in Washington. An article about our adventures during the last week will come soon, I promise. I’ll make sure to show y’all everything.
Have you ever been to Washington? If so, what was your favorite place to be?
